Major writes to minister, DC against Sacred Heart School Daughter denied admission as he didn’t attend interview

A Major of the Indian Army, Dhushyant Bishnoi, who is posted in Srinagar, has lodged a complaint with Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat against Sacred Heart Convent School, Sarabha Nagar, for denying admission to his daughter on the grounds that her father was not present in the school during the time of admission.Bishnoi said he was called for duty and could not attend the interview.  His wife accompanied their daughter for the interview. But his daughter was denied admission. Bishnoi stated when he came back, he asked the school authorities about the reason for denying his daughter admission to the school. Bishnoi said the school authorities told him that his daughter was denied admission as he was not accompanying her on the date of interview.Meanwhile, Education Minister Daljeet Singh Cheema stated that he had received the complaint lodged by the Major.“It is very unfortunate that the daughter of the Amry officer, who served the country, was denied admission merely because her father was protecting our borders,” said Cheema.He said he took the up the matter with the school authorities and spoke to the officer.Cheema said the school authorities had assured that the Army Major’s child would be admitted to one of their branches in BRS Nagar.
