Dear Sir,

Please note that I fully agree with your brief notes. At the outset,I declare that i am not a disabled beneficiary, hence my comments may please be read as an unattached w/o any personal gains.Basically for the benefit of Bharat and our Armed Forces. I did note some comments from the present Honourable CDS, justifying thr new bumf produced by AG br. / Med dte.
That there is no necessity of my going through each page as it is not possible to read and absorb the contents of the whole 📕 booklet. Only some effected officers may touch the bulky book to go through the pages that be of concern to him. How much time he spends to understand is between him and his issues. Certainly JCOs & ORs which is the big number, will not be able to touch it & it is scary.
That it is very few mainly Sr officers / Medical branch class who may have manipulated to benefit from the disability conditions created after supersessions , before retirement , using their powers and influence. Why make rules which disturbs the time tested SOP since as early as WW-1.

  • Demoralisation. We take fair Chances & face danger in peace & war time for the best for the Nation. The soldier puts his life to risk for the sake of Naam , Namak & Nishan, and in that josh doesn’t care the physical harm that causes him be it death or disability to any extent. This happens in anti terrorist operations during peace time & border skirmishes, and during declared / undeclared operations on the frontline while defending our sacred borders. Mostly affected are the Infantry/ Armoured/ Artillery & Engineers. The others too are affected as a supporting arms. At this time of operation when he is placing his life in danger/ risk should he think of harm to himself or the Safety, honour and pride of the unit & nation that always come first. That he cares nothing but his duty towards the Bharat Mata . Now it is the responsibility of the Nation to take care of him if he is alive & his family after his becoming a martyr. The Nation must take full responsibilities in all respects and not ignored the families, by just awarding a Veer Nari status to the war widows. Once the men knows that he & family will be taken care , he doesn’t hesitate in going to any extant and fights till last drop of his blood for the pride of his unit & nation.
  • That having said above, i make an appeal to all our political leaders and Military think tanks to not worry about pennies and loose pounds and the honour & safety of our motherland.
*That mostly wrongs happen after supersession , when temptation to gain maximum from service takes priority, and hardly are the lower class of all ranks, but select few who have the authority to manipulate. Let us not disturb the time tested system for the wrongs of few. In fact conduct an investigation and punish those few and not a mass punishment involving deserved disability cases. That even earlier it was not an easy game / bluff to pass through the Medical Board comprising of Sr Specialist and gain disability benefits. If you still insist on making a SOP , please do so few pages which can be read , understood and implemented.
I am an Infantry officer Veteran and feel that justice must be done by the Armed Forces, and that the sufferers should not be required to run to AFT / Courts to get justice. He has to pay heavily to the team of Advocates at all levels before the case comes to the final orders stage from litigation. I hv guided number of cases which hv struggled through the web of court directives/ orders . In fact in our case it should be an AFT as final, and any further appeal should it be required in any Top Courts, where it is date par date, the MOD should contest and not oppose as now happening. Even AFT also takes years, as at many AFT is not fully operational. Finally, beyond the AFT orders the appeal if required, expenses should be borne by the GOI/ MOD. Majority of the cases going in appeals are being fought by Govt Pleader and are not working on high priority for the Disabled/ Veterans .
